Justin Houston: Our goal is to bring home that ring

Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston is aiming for Super Bowl glory during the 2015 season and believes that lofty goal is well within his team’s reach this year.

In an exclusive interview with BritViewNFL and nfluk.com, Houston said:

“I always have high expectations and our goal is to bring home that ring. I honestly feel that if we can stay focused and continue to work, we can bring home that ring.”

Houston recorded 22 sacks during a memorable 2014 campaign and parlayed that success into a $101-million contract extension in the off-season. But he’s not about to rest on his laurels and is excited about Kansas City’s defense this year.

The fifth-year defender said:

“It’s crazy what this defense can do. I think it’s scary how good we can be – I think we’re going to be an amazing defense.”

And as his own game goes from strength to strength, the second highest-paid defender in the NFL is establishing himself as one of the biggest stars in the game today. But he wants to be more than that.

Houston concluded:

“I want to be remembered as one of the best outside linebackers ever to play this game. I set my goals high. I don’t play this game just for fun – I want to be known as one of the greats.”
