Darrelle Revis: I’m back home

Despite winning a Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots last season, All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis is not shedding any tears following his off-season departure from the reigning NFL champions.

In fact, Revis is delighted to return to the New York Jets after two seasons away with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2013) and Patriots (2014).

In an exclusive interview with BritViewNFL.com and NFLUK.com, Revis told me:

“I’m back home – it feels like I’m back home. I got drafted by the Jets in 2007 so I’m very familiar with the organisation and I’m just happy to be back.”

Revis is also teaming up once more with fellow cornerback Antonio Cromartie. The pair were lock-down corners during the 2010 season and helped the Jets reach that year’s AFC Championship Game.

Speaking about his partnership with Cromartie, Revis said:

“That’s my guy – we’re very good friends, I love him to death and I’m happy to team up with him again.”

Revis and Cromartie should definitely be key players for the Jets in 2015. New head coach Todd Bowles preaches an attacking style of defense and is not afraid to leave his cornerbacks on an island. Revis is ready for that challenge during this upcoming campaign.

The six-time Pro Bowler said:

“Todd Bowles has a very similar style to Rex Ryan. He is very aggressive on defense and he has done well as a coordinator and defensive coach in this league. We’re looking forward to him and his coaching staff helping us to win games.”
