The Stirling Clansmen clinched back-to-back BUCS National Championships after dismantling the Hertfordshire Hurricanes 46-6 in the Premier Division final at Allianz Park on Saturday.
The team from Scotland were in scintillating form, dominating their opponents from start to finish on offense, defense and special teams.
The offense moved the ball at will with a power running game and well-thrown deep passes. The defense exerted constant pressure at the line of scrimmage and forced numerous turnovers, while the special teams unit constantly gave the Scots outstanding field position.
While the whole Stirling team were superb, Grant Isdale was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after scoring three rushing touchdowns, returning an interception for a score and making big contributions in all three phases of the game.
The championship game came at the conclusion of a season in which a record 90 universities were playing some form of American football.
