The top two teams in British university American football will meet at Allianz Park on Saturday March 21 as the reigning champion Stirling Clansmen take on the Hertfordshire Hurricances for the national title.
The championship game – which will be played at the home of Saracens Rugby – will kick off at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2 for OAPs and under-18s.
The Clansmen are chasing back-to-back national titles after defeating the Birmingham Lions 35-13 in the semi-final. The Hurricanes are competing for a sixth national crown after they beat the Durham Saints 19-14 in their semi-final.
The Clansmen-Hurricanes showdown is one of three university games taking place this weekend. The Northern Divisional Final sees the Glasgow Tigers take on the Sheffield Hallam Warriors at Preston’s UCLan Sports Arena. Kick-off is at 2pm and admission is free. The Southern Division Final pits the Kingston Cougars against the Surrey Stingers at the Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield. Kick-off is at 1pm and, again, admission is free.
BAFA Director for Student Football, Andy Fuller, said:
“I have no doubt that all three games will prove to be tremendous adverts for British student football and will be a fitting climax to a tremendous season.”
The BAFA Spring Meeting will take place ahead of the national final at Allianz Park and will allow British American football to reflect on another successful period of growth over the past 12 months.
